Richard has created Blank Canvas Labs (blankcanvas-labs.ca), a live, in-person tutorial workshop which aims to provide an immersive experience where participants can learn to create music digitally from scratch. Our goal is to empower young people with creative skills and confidence, while also promoting the therapeutic benefits of music creation, particularly for neurodivergent youth.

Our setup is simple and mobile. All we require from you is a projector or big screen TV with an HDMI input. We’ll do the rest. USB controller keyboard, computer, speakers, lights, microphone, we provide it all. Have any of your students ever dreamed of going to a recording studio to record a song? Well, we’ll bring the studio to you!…and create a song from nothing, while the students watch and learn. The best part, is that the students will also be involved, as those who can freestyle sing or rap, will also be a part of the process. At the end of the session, an MP3 of the creation will be sent to the students as a keepsake.
